How I Started My Lemon Juice Diet

Of all the diets and healthy foods I have tried, incorporated or excluded over the years, the Lemon Juice Diet or Master Cleanse detox diet has been the most challenging. That doesn’t mean I don’t like it, actually quite the opposite. I felt extremely cleansed and healthy after going through the 10 day lemon juice diet, and the ease-in days preceding and post ease out time.

Gearing up for the Lemon Juice Diet

If you’re anything like I was, you might find yourself weighing over and over again whether you can or even should to attempt this challenge.  After all just look at the delicious foods and unique ways there are to diet these day, including the fruit and veggie diet. Is a body detox and cleanse something that is absolutely necessary?

First of all, don’t feel bad if you do find yourself in a quandary about the pros and cons; as I said, that also happened to me. I procrastinated on starting my lemon juice diet for months. I finally made an important decision one evening though, after reading through a few articles on the importance of regular body detoxification.

I became aware that many of the toxins we take in, whether through our environment or the foods we eat get stored in our guts (colon) and end going or being stored in our body fat reserves. These toxins are what actually lead to diseases and ill health. My epiphany came after reading those reports. It seemed glaringly evident to me that even if I ate the most delicious and nutritious foods, my body still would not be able to absorb the vital nutrients from those foods. That got me quite concerned and led me to make the important decision to detox.

The 10 day juice diet I was contemplating would ultimately be more valuable for my health than the temporary inconvenience of 10 days off solid foods. Then it was easy for me to determine to dive in and give this juice diet 100%.  The bottom line was that I wanted to be healthy, and that helped me make the decision to do whatever I could to regain my health. I then had the motivation, determination and perseverance for a 10-day body detox.

Simple Ingredients behind the Juice Diet

The 10-day juice diet is very simple, and utilizes the simplest ingredients. There’s nothing too complicated about it. I liked that aspect very much. The only difficult part was the endurance and perseverance it took. That is where you will have to find the motivation within yourself to embark on the journey and complete it. If you do, it’s well worth it in the benefits you gain.

The following list is what you’ll need for the lemon juice diet:

  • Distilled, purified or spring Water
  • Lemons or Limes
  • Organic Grade B Maple Syrup
  • Cayenne Pepper (organic preferably)
  • Non-Iodized Sea Salt
  • Laxative tea
  • Peppermint tea
